Dressmaking, knitting, crocheting, and embroidery training
For the past 4 years Likii Tender Hearts has offered free training in the art of dressmaking, knitting, crocheting, and embroidery to our students, a simple but selfless gift that allows them to fend for themselves and their families.  Most of the families have and still experience the perils of AIDS, depression, alcohol and drug abuse, and lack of social life especially for the senior citizens.  Click here for testimonials from our current students.

Art Classes
Likii Tender Hearts is now offering free art classes to the residents of Likii village and other surrounding villages. Darius whose wife is also receiving free training in knitting, is our resident artist and will be assisting students sharpen their fine art skills, learn commercial art, sign writing, screen printing, and, creating art designs using dry banana leaf mosaic.  The art workshop is situated at the entrance of Kigano farm in Likii.

Quilting
Quilting is a relatively new craft in Likii and several elderly women are spending time in creating beautiful quilts to supplement their income and also donate to the needy.  Rachel Kigano acquired the beautiful skill of quilting from  St. Aloysius Catholic Church, in Spokane, WA., and received a beautiful frame from Lilly Essex.

Bingo
While visiting Spokane, Rachel Kigano, Sr., who heads our mission in Kenya, joined her sister Violet Njue, and a parishioner from St. John Vianney Catholic Church  in providing the game of Bingo to a homecare facility.  Upon her return to Likii, Rachel met with the village chief who was excited to learn that Likii Tender Hearts will be providing Bingo to the senior citizens in Likii Village.

Computer Training
Students will receive basic computer training which will include creating documents, spreadsheets, and powerpoint, using MS Office and creating simple projects generated from PrintMaster or Hallmark software and Photoshop. Rosaline Chia who is our project coordinator, is assisting in the computer training.  She received her computer training from a local church.

Woodcraft
Again our gratitude goes to our supporters in Spokane, WA for their generous donations of woodcraft materials.  It is our sincere hope that this program will attract the young and old men who have gone astray due to alcohol and drug abuse and provide them with basic skills that will help in rebuilding their lives.

AIDS awareness
Likii Tender Hearts has been collaborating with B'ware AIDS Project which is also located within the Kiganos farm. This is a faith-based organization that works tirelessly to produce music composed by Kenyans with themes on the dangers of AIDS/HIV. B'ware is a beneficiary of our very first silent auction which was held in Fort Lauderdale, FL. B'ware filmed our first documentary in May 2011, highlighting some of our major projects.
